    MPV, POLAR, & JSS

Canada’s new Multi-Purpose Vessels (MPVs) are designed to handle a wide range of missions, including icebreaking, search and rescue, environmental response, scientific research, and offshore fisheries patrols. During my time at Seaspan, I was instrumental in the antenna placement and EMC/EMI analysis on the mast of the MPV, optimizing communication systems for reliable performance in harsh environments. I also designed block diagrams for onboard systems such as HF, VHF, UHF, SATCOM, and Wi-Fi.

The Polar Icebreaker is a multi-role vessel equipped to operate year-round in Canada’s challenging Arctic waters. Its advanced icebreaking capabilities ensure safe navigation through Canada’s northern Economic Exclusion Zone, making it essential for Arctic science and logistical support. I contributed to modeling antenna profiles to expedite the testing and development of onboard systems.

The Joint Support Ship (JSS) is a purpose-built vessel designed to provide replenishment, training, and humanitarian support for the Royal Canadian Navy. Its ability to refuel and resupply naval task groups at sea extends the operational reach of Canada’s fleet. While working on the JSS, our engineering team resolved critical Wi-Fi system issues onboard, enhancing network reliability for personnel at sea.
